The saying "whatever doesn't kill you can only make you stronger" is very common but to me confusing. I used to be very puzzled by the people that felt that way. I thought that people who say that either say it in tounge and cheek or have never had true trials. Just recently it has dawned on me that it has nothing to do with the severty of trial but more importantly our outlook on hard times. How do we respond, what do we let affect us and how? Some people allow hard times to get them down, stress them out and make life miserable while others float through as if they weren't affected at all. I choose to be niether one of those perspectives but instead to realize that the hard times are shaping and molding me into the person I can be. Hard times are a way of making us better and refining our self. Just a thought for the trouble hearted.
